Harold & Arlene Schnitzer Care Foundation Awards Morrison Child And Family Services $5000
PORTLAND, OR – November 15, 2011
The Harold & Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation awarded $5,000 to support capital improvements to Morrison Child and Family Services’ new building on NE Sandy Blvd. The grant will be used for vital repairs and renovations for the new space, which will house all Executive and Administrative departments, two of our programs for at-risk teenagers, and our community-based program staff by January 2012.

Currently our Executive, Administrative, Diversity & Inclusion, IT & Facilities, Program Evaluation, and Quality Management departments, Breakthrough and Counterpoint programs, and Community-Based program services are housed in six separate buildings throughout the greater Portland area. This move will not only improve the functionality and efficiency of our agency’s administration and provide Breakthrough and Counterpoint with a much more conducive and favorable environment for treatment; it will also save Morrison hundreds of thousands of dollars in rental fees and lease agreements each year. This money can then be funneled back into the vital programs Morrison provides for Portland’s vulnerable children and youth.

The Schnitzer CARE Foundation, established in 1994, provides grants to non-profit organizations in the greater Portland area with an emphasis on youth, culture, education, social service, and community activities that enhance the region’s quality of life. The CARE Foundation has generously supported many Morrison programs in the past, and we greatly appreciate the Foundation's commitment to the wellbeing of our young clients and their families.
